Christian Fletcher is the bridge where surf and skate culture collide and lock arms, and Embassy Skateboards fits naturally into that story.  When you talk about pushing boundaries, Christian Fletcher’s name always comes up. Born into surfing royalty in San Clemente, Fletcher didn’t just surf waves- he redefined what surfing could look and feel like. In the late 1980’s, while the surf world was locked into smooth carves and contests, Christian started launching airs, borrowing inspiration straight from skateboarding. He turned surfing into an aerial assault, blowing the doors wide open for future generations.

Christian Fletcher wasn’t interested in fitting into the clean-cut surf image. He brought tattoos, punk rock, and skate style into the lineup. He took heat for it, but in hindsight, he was simply ahead of his time. Today every surfer owes something to Fletcher’s fearless attitude and his refusal to play by the rules.

The crossover between surfing and skateboarding has always been strong, but Fletcher embodies it. His aerial approach to surfing mirrored what’s skaters were doing in pools and vert ramps.  His wasn’t about pleasing the judges- it was about expression, individuality, and living without compromise.
